How to use The Social Media Content Planner in your marketing

Set Clear Goals:

Start by defining clear, measurable goals for your social media presence in 2024. This could include increasing follower count, boosting engagement, or driving more traffic to your website. Write these goals in the planner’s designated section.

At the beginning of your planner, in the Commitment Section, consider what actions you’ll take to achieve your goals and write them down.

Then, at the beginning of each month, use the goals section to get clear on what baby steps you can take to make headway toward your goals.

Content Themes and Topics:

Brainstorm content themes and topics relevant to your audience and business.

The planner can help you organize these ideas and plan when to post them throughout the year by using the brainstorming section first, and then moving your ideas into the monthly overview so you can see what theme applies to each month.

There are two sections that can help here, one is content types, so you can make sure you have a diverse selection of content and monthly themes so you can create a cohesive, organized, online presence.

Pro tip, you can also add important holidays for your business in here as well so you don’t lose track of anything.

Integrate Platform-Specific Strategies:

Different social media platforms may require different approaches. Use the planner to tailor your content and posting schedule to each platform's unique characteristics and audience.

Your planner includes 50 content ideas to get you on the right track, as well as daily, weekly and monthly checklists to keep all your different platforms in order.

Content Calendar Creation:

Now that you have your ideas, your content types, your checklists and your themes in order—utilize the calendar section to plot out your posts.

This includes scheduling dates for regular posts, campaigns, and special events. Being consistent with your content is key to keeping your audience engaged.

At the beginning of each week, you’ll have a section to identify your priorities for the week—social media or business—tasks you need to complete, people to connect with, hashtags to use, as well as taking down your followers numbers for each platform.

Measuring your success weekly will let you know if your efforts are working, or if your content needs to be tweaked.

Content Creation and Curation:

Plan and create content in advance. Use the planner to keep track of the content you need to create and align it with your scheduled posting dates.

Tracking and Analytics:

Each week you’ll find a section in your planner to track the performance of your posts. Regularly review analytics to understand what works and what doesn’t, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Engagement Planning:

Plan how and when to engage with your audience. This includes responding to comments, engaging with followers’ content, and participating in relevant conversations.

If you’re having a hard time keeping up, refer back to your daily, weekly, monthly checklists at the beginning of the book.

Review and Adapt:

At regular intervals, review your social media performance against the goals you set. Use insights from this review to adapt your strategy, making changes in your planner as needed.

There are several pages of notes behind each monthly section, use this space to track what’s working, what’s not, and what new content you’d like to create for next month.

Reflect and Celebrate Successes:

Regularly reflect on the successes and learnings from your social media efforts. Celebrate milestones and use these as motivation to continue refining your strategy.

Each section has a motivational saying at the start of each new month. I love to use some space here to write down my wins so I can keep myself motivated all year round.
