5 Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Online Presence
As the days get longer and the flowers finally start to bloom, it’s not just your house that could use a good tidy up; your social media deserves a little love too.
If you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, or just trying to show up online with intention, now’s a great time to give your platforms a quick cleanup so they reflect who you are right now. Not last year. Not 2020. Right now.
Let’s do it together. Here are 5 super doable things you can tackle this week.
1. Refresh Your Visuals
Start with your profile pic and cover photo
Your visuals are often the first impression someone gets of you. Make sure they reflect where you’re at right now!
Swap out any outdated profile pics or cover images for something high-quality and on-brand. Even a new headshot with your fresh spring look can make a difference.
2. Review Your Bio and Info
Make sure your About section is accurate
Your bio should feel like a mini introduction or elevator pitch. Take a few minutes to make sure your services, website link, and contact details are still accurate.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked a link in someone’s bio only to find... nothing. Don’t let that be you!
3. Clean Up Your Followers
Take a quick look through your followers and following lists
Over time, your audience can get a bit cluttered. Maybe there are spam accounts following you, or you’re still following businesses you no longer connect with.
Remove bots, inactive accounts, or people who just don’t align with your brand anymore.
Your audience should feel like your people. The ones who actually get what you’re about and want to be there. It’s not about chasing numbers, it’s about building a real community.
4. Clear Out Old Content
Archive or delete anything that no longer fits
If your feed still has content from a service you stopped offering a year ago or a logo you haven’t used since 2022, it might be time to let it go.
Your social media should tell the story of where your business is right now. That doesn’t mean deleting everything from the past, but do a little scroll-through and see what no longer serves you. Archive anything that feels off-brand or outdated.
5. Take a Look at Your Insights
See what’s been working and what hasn’t
Look at your analytics from the last few months. What posts are getting the most likes, comments, or shares?
This is the kind of info that can totally change the game. When you know what’s working (and what’s not), you can stop guessing and start creating content with confidence.
Ready to Spring Clean Your Social Media?
Just like a good decluttering session makes your space feel lighter, cleaning up your online presence can do wonders for your mindset and momentum.
A few small changes now can lead to better engagement, more visibility, and stronger connections with the people you actually want to reach.
If this all sounds a bit overwhelming? You don’t have to do it alone.
